Language: As mentioned earlier, the official language of Brazil is Portuguese, but most Brazilians understand Spanish and/or Italian, and a few speak English. However, communication is not difficult. The Brazilians are very spontaneous and gestures very often are understood.

Visas: For the majority of Europeans, visas are not required. On entering the country you will be given three (3) months stay which can be extended for an additional three months at the office of the Federal Police. However, you should verify visa status before traveling.

Vaccinations: Various vaccinations are recommended. Consult your doctor or health service at home to get adequate information.
